Condition
Examined in the frame. Lined. The work presents well, aside from minor surface dirt and dust; a few pin dot surface accretions near the lower edge; finely patterned, stable craquelure on the girl; minor frame abrasion scattered at the edges. Under UV: there is a green fluorescing varnish, of which the girl and orange appear to have been cleaned. Just above the girl's forehead there is an approximately 2 inch wide sideways X shaped area of repair (slightly visible to the naked eye); there is inpainting to the edge of the proper right side of her face; and scattered finely applied dashes and lines of inpainting to the proper left side of her face and her dress and arms. There are a few minor dashes of inpainting in the upper left corner and some dots of fluorescence in background at upper right.
