The following condition report was kindly provided by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.: This work has been restored. The condition is uneven, particularly in the sky, where fairly broad and extensive retouches are visible under ultraviolet light. There is a break in the canvas in the lower sky above the end of the promenade on the right side. Above the dome of the Santa Maria della Salute, there is another group of fairly extensive losses. In the foreground, the most notable restoration is in the canal in the lower left corner, where a horizontal break of about 2 inches has been restored. Otherwise, only a few small retouches are visible here. There are no restorations beneath the right elbow of the standing woman by the gondolas. It is recommended that the work be hung in its current state.
