The Naviquartz was publicly presented for the first time at the 1970 Basel Fair. These Naviquartz clocks are high precision timepieces primarily used for celestial navigation and determination of longitude. An accurate chronometer was essential to deep sea marine or air navigation when out of sight of land. The present Naviquartz clock is preserved in excellent condition together with rare gilt dial and mahogany outer case.
