Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. Upon very close inspection there are some rub marks to the extreme corner tips. Further close inspection reveals a faint rub mark 10 inches long running intermittently across center of the upper right quadrant. Under further close reveals a very faint and unobtrusive scuff to the upper left collage element of the canvas. Under close inspection there are a few scratches along the left vertical and horizontal edge no larger than 1 inch. Examined under ultra violet light there is a 3 inch area that fluoresces lightly in the upper right collage element of the composition, most likely the result of inpainting. Unframed. Please note the updated title for this work is Landscape Cupboard.

Catalogue Note

"I am playing with the formal edges of line and color and sort of going against the rules. So, a formalist, non-subject matter type of painting—totally abstract painting. Now, my works all have a sort of subtext to them." Mary Heilmann
