L.A. Louver, Venice, California Acquired from the above by the present owner
Venice, L.A. Louver, John McCracken: New Dimensions, September - October 1997
“I try to use color as if it were a material [...] Color is also sensuous. I felt right from the first that while I wanted to make very pared-down forms, I wanted them to be sensuous and beautiful so that they would be, and keep on being, interesting to look at.” John McCracken
This work is in good and sound condition overall. Under very close inspection and raking light, there are a few fine, unobtrusive scattered surface scratches. Also under very close inspection, approximately ten inches from the lower left edge, there is an approximately 3-inch-long very faint surface scratch. Under extremely close inspection, there are a few white pinpoint accretions on the top left portion of the surface and a minor brown pinpoint accretion on the top right.
