The Pace Gallery, New York Private Collection, New York Acquired from the above by the present owner
"My work is about seeing. Ultimately, it’s about a way of looking at the world. I’m just painting what I’m seeing; I’m just trying to connect the dots of my own vision. Every time I stumble across something that’s worth a look, it stops me in my tracks."
This work is in very good condition overall. The paper is mounted to the canvas. There are several scattered accretions to the unpainted portion of the paper. Under very close inspection, there are a few scattered hairline linear cracks and pigment separation to the thicker areas of impasto that all appear stable. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Framed in an artist's frame. In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
