Condition

This work is in good condition. There are light handling marks and pinholes along the edges. Close inspection reveals hairline craquelures along the left and right border of the centre panel segment, consistent to the age of the work. Two minor surface dents can be found on the centre left and upper right quadrant. Under ultraviolet light examination, few vertical strips across the surface, along the mid-panel border and aforementioned dents fluoresce in dark, most likely due to previous in-painting.

Catalogue Note

The shadow works encompass a lot; they play with figuration, activate historical connotations, and maintain a conceptual rigor while flirting with artfulness and craftsmanship. - William Corwin
