Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is hinged verso to the backing board, and there is a very slight undulation to the sheet. There is evidence of oil staining as a natural result of the oil stick medium used. The surface inconsistencies seen throughout are inherent with the artist's working method and chosen medium. Framed under Plexiglas, in artist's chosen frame.

Catalogue Note

"Drawing is a concentration on an essential activity and the credibility of the statement is totally in your hands. It’s the most direct, conscious space in which I work. I can observe my process from beginning to end, and at times sustain a continuous concentration…It’s one of the few conditions in which I can understand the source of my work.” Richard Serra
