Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling, most noticeable in the lower left corner. Upon close inspection, there is minor cracking in areas of heavy impasto, most noticeable in the white passages near the center top edge and the torso section of the figure. The impasto peaks appear to be intact. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Unframed.

Catalogue Note

"I like the idea of focusing on the Apollo missions. The gallery is one big room and I wanted the focus to be there. The paintings can work on their own or tell a story when shown together. The Apollo astronauts were the guys who slammed dunk the ball. It was always about getting to the moon." Michael Kagan
