Acquired directly from the artist by the present owner
"I think [there is a fairly consistent vocabulary] in the landscapes too...It’s a much more simple vocabulary. It’s all a matter of rhythms and strokes. The rhythms and strokes are contained in a certain area, all of them, they don’t go outside of it much, my rhythms and strokes, if you break it down." Alex Katz
This work is in very good condition overall. There is light evidence of wear and handling to the edges, most noticeably in the four corners where there are scattered losses. There is a small indentation in the upper right corner. There are minor surface irregularities throughout the work, inherent to the artist’s chosen medium and working method. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Unframed. In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
