Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. There is light evidence of handling to the edges of the sheet. The top and bottom edges of the sheet are deckled and there is a slight undulation to the sheet, inherent to the artist’s working method and intent. Under very close inspection, two accretions are visible: a white accretion 4.75-inches from the bottom and approximately 18-inches from the left and a brown pinpoint accretion visible 1.75-inches beneath the white accretion. The color is bright, fresh and clean. Under raking light, a 3-inch vertical crease, just right of the joint, is visible, a faint crease in the right-most corner of the left sheet at the joint is visible, and a diagonal rub is visible in the lower right quadrant. There are six raised areas along the top edge, corresponding to the hinges on the reverse. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat intermittently around the edges of each sheet. Framed under Plexiglas.
