Condition

This work is in very good condition overall. The sheet is hinged verso to the mat board intermittently along the edges. There are multiple artist pinholes in all four corners. There are undulations throughout the sheet, most noticeable along the top and bottom edges. The margins around the edges show evidence of wear and handling with associated marks and fingerprints, inherent to the artist's working method. Framed under Plexiglas.

Catalogue Note

"All [my] paintings set up this intense mannerism. Everything is hyperbolized and highly decorated. Even the decoration is decorated. It’s trying to insist on the possibility of a primary experience, but within the confines of something very artificial. The work doesn’t shy away from that."  Lari Pittman
