Condition
This work is in very good and sound condition overall. There is evidence of handling and wear along the edges including small losses around the perimeter of the wood construction, possibly inherent to the time of execution. The top of the wood construction has scattered minor stains and accretions. The wood joints at the bottom are slightly uneven. In the crevices around where the lenses are adhered to the glass, there is slight discoloration visible. Under very close inspection, there is evidence of craquelure to some of the spheres inside the box, resulting in scattered areas of lifting and flaking. There is one half sphere element that is unattached from the lower left corner, which is resting in the bottom of the construction. As expected with a work of this construction, the piece is slightly dusty overall.
