Condition
Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is lighter and brighter and fails to fully convey the pearlescent quality of the paint. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is a fine pattern of craqueleure in places throughout, most notably towards the lower left corner and to the centre of the left edge, which is in keeping with the artist's working process. There is a tiny artist's hole to the lower centre right of the composition. Very close inspection reveals some faint drying cracks in isolated places, some of which have tiny spots of associated loss and some very fine tension cracks in intermittent places along all four extreme edges. Further very close inspection reveals some tiny spots of wear to all four corner tips and a short and faint horizontal crack to the centre left of the composition. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
