Condition

Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer in the original and it fails to fully convey the sculptural qualities of the work. Condition: This work is in very good condition. All collaged elements are stable. The canvas is slightly slack and undulates slightly. All surface irregularities and accretions are in keeping with artist's working process. Very close inspection reveals some very short and unobtrusive drying cracks to the areas of thicker impasto. A superficial layer of dust has adhered to the collaged elements. No restoration is apparent when examined ultraviolet light.
