Condition

Colour: The colour in the catalogue illustration is fairly accurate, although the red tones are slightly brighter and more vibrant in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. The sheet is hinged verso to the backing board in numerous places. Very close inspection reveals a few minutes specks of loss to the red pigment.

Catalogue Note

“It’s probably one of my major faults that I pursue physical love with such obsession. It was always the first and foremost aspect that I took care of. I always felt that intellectual stimulation and companionship could be supplied by other people… For me, the physical part was so overpowering that I just let it lead me around in this really obsessive way” (Keith Haring cited in: John Gruen, The Authorized Biography, New York 1991, p. 139).
