  • Diam. 24 cm ; diam. 9½ in.
circular, the border painted with a band of ochre foliage and berries on grey ground within puce and ciselé gilt rims, the centre later painted with a portrait of Emperor Nicholas I and his spaniel with a coastal scene beyond, marked N I and inscribed, signed and dated on the reverse in Russian 'Portrait of His Highness Nicolas I/after a painting by F. Krüger/1837/V. Eliseev.', all in overglaze black
