Catalogue Note

Linke title: Pied support Louis XV bois sculpté et doré. The model index number 1895 first appeared in the green registre in 1909 as part of the large order for Elias Meyer of Grosvenor Square, Commande 1237. The wood was cut by Guerin on January 25, 1909; the wood and carving cost 325 francs and the gilding an extra 125 francs. Three more were made for d’Astorica of Madrid in 1910 and a further in unpatinated walnut in 1929. Although not on the list of repurchases by Linke from Meyer’s widow in 1926, it is quite likely this was an added item.
