Description

  • 7.5 cm, 3 in wide
in 18th century taste, rectangular with cut corners, the cagework mounts chased and enamelled with trailing leaves and flowers on a matted ground, the corners with white pellets, containing miniatures painted en grisaille after Boucher, the lid with putti playing with a goat, the base representing Industry, the sides with further putti enjoying themselves, gold lining, apparently unmarked apart from modern French eagle head control marks
