the blue and white decoration with birds, rocks and flowers in the Chinese style, the pyramidal tower of nine pieces above two volute scrolled sphynx, above a pedestal supported by four recumbent lion and ball feet, the upper piece of the tower is an 18th century Chinese porcelain replacement; (the tops and a corner of one base with restorations)
Condition
For one pyramid, all the elements bear inside a cold painted brush stroke, now black, to distinguish them from the element of the other pyramid. The unmarked pyramid is complete, with the nine elements, missing only the bust of Mary II on top (height 144 cm and 162 cm with the Chinese top). For the other pyramid with the painted marked, the two upper elements are missing (height 135 cm without the Chinese porcelain top). The top element of the first one has been now put on top of the second one to reach the same height for both (153 cm, as visible on the illustrations of the catalogue). Pyramid vase with spouts n°1: Base: One corner of the base is broken and restucked above a lion, a small haircrack on one face, small chips to glaze on the lions, the corners, the rim and the sphinges. A restoration on the neck of two female sphinges. Element n°1: Small chips to the spouts. Element n°2: One spout restored, very small chips at the end of the spouts. Element n°3: Very small chips. Element n°4: Small chips at the end of the spouts and a small chip on the rim. Element n°5: Small chips at the end of the spouts. Element n°6: Small chips at the end of the spouts. Element n°7: Small chips at the end of the spouts. Element n°8: A spout restored and small chips Element n°9: Broken in several pieces and restored. Element n°10 (Chinese porcelain): a restoration to two spouts and the square base is broken and restored. Pyramid vase with spouts n°2: Base: Small chips to the rims, the corners and the lions. Element n°1: Small chips to spout, one chip to top the rim, a loss of clay on a face and a fire crack underneath. Element n°2: Small chips to the spouts. Element n°3: Two large chips to the spouts and small chips to the spouts. Element n°4: Small chips to the spouts. Element n°5: Small chips to the spouts. Element n°6: Small chips to the spouts. Element n°7: Small chips to the spouts and large chips on top the rim. Element n°8 and Element n° 9 missing. Element n°10 (Chinese porcelain): three spouts restored.
