Catalogue Note

Emil Adam was a german Sporting painter. He was very successful in Germany, in England and also in France where he painted for the most important owners of horses such as Abeille, Rothschild, Vanderbilt and Schickler. Semandria, daughter of Le Sancy won the Prix d'Hedouville in 1901. The picture was most probably commissioned to celebrate the Victory.
