Description

  • Haut. 112 cm, long. 200 cm, larg. 120 cm ; height 44 in; width 78 1/4 in; width 47 1/4 in
adorned with gilt-bronze mounts figuring Diana, Endymion and a mask of Apollo, based on baluster feet

Condition

The photograph is quite accurate. Expected scratches, hairline cracks, marks and stains all throughout the surface. The left side is extensively sunfaded and the veneer turned dry. A piece of ebony veneer is missing on top of the front left foot, as well as on the rear left foot. Beautiful gilt bronze mounts with some oxidation (one laurel leaf replaced and now tarnished). Impressive and elegant model which would benefit from a global restoration.
