In overall fairly good condition with minor surface dirt, notably in the crevices, consistent with age and handling. There are a few chips along the edges and to the high points in some places. Six finger tips are slightly damaged. There are a few losses, notably to the edge of the veil on the top of the Virgin's head, along the lower edge of her coat to the back. A fixing hole is visible to the back of the Virgin's head, possibly where a missing ora was attached. There is general wear and there are a few chips to the ebonised wood base.
