Condition

There is non-active wood worming all over the surface, notably to the lower parts, and surface dirt, notably in the crevices. There are a few stable vertical splits, some of them fairly large as visible in the images. There are a few losses, notably to St Joseph's proper right sleeve, and to the index finger of one of the shepherd's proper left raised hand. The polychromy has been stripped off. The kneeled shepherd's staff appears to be a replacement. The lower plinth is a later addition.
