Condition consistent with age and use. The sardine cushions are in condition of use with scattered scratches, scuffs, stains and some instances of wear to the leather, mostly concentrated along the stitches. One cushion presents with a tiny hole of approximately 2 mm. The other presents with a tear of approximately 2 cm that appears to have been restored by the artist. The edges of the tail presents with significant wear. The sofa has been re-upholstered at the time of the making by Claude Lalanne and the upholstery presents with scattered instances of wear, more significant on the seat and consistent with age and use. The leather presents with scratches, scuffs and light stains scattered. The painted wood structure presents with some wear throughout and with scattered chips of paint, some cracks and some seams separations, all inherent to the aging process. Some of these cracks have been previously restored. There are several scratches, dents and chips of wood, the largest of approximately 2 cm, consistent with age and use.
