The canvas is unlined, on what appears to be the original stretcher. Ultra-violet light reveals notably clustered strokes of retouching in the rightmost quarter of the sky, in the upper centre of the green hill in the distance, small spots in the face of the girl facing the viewer, and spots in the lower-right corner of the composition around (but apparently not in) the signature. This work presents well and is otherwise in good overall condition.
The colours in the original are less yellow and subtler than in the catalogue illustration.
