Painted in 1918, a year only before his death, this work shows a view of the Usseglio Valley, near Turin. In this landscape, Morbelli remains faithful to his taste for mountain painting, one of the favorite motives of the Italian Divisionists.
Using quick, broad and energetic brushstrokes, Morbelli focuses on the vibration of light and its reflection in the sky, clouds and partially snow-covered mountain peaks.
