Catalogue Note

La dignité de la pose, le parfait équilibre des puissants volumes corporels, les traits idéalisés et l'importance accordée à la parure, traduisent remarquablement les critères de beauté des Kulango. A la rigueur de la construction répondent l'élégance du port de tête et les signes arrangés par la main de l'homme : coiffure complexe, scarifications en boutons ponctuant le dos, le cou et le visage, ceinture en perles de verre. La fermeté des volumes est accentuée par la très belle patine sombre, luisante sur les reliefs.
