Petit in-12 (133 x 79 mm). Maroquin rouge, large dentelle dorée en encadrement avec fleurs de lis aux angles, armes dorées au centre des plats, dos orné de fleurs de lis, dentelle intérieure, doublure et gardes de tabis bleu, tranches dorées (Reliure de l’époque attribuable à Derome).Très bel exemplaire malgré un très léger accroc au pied de la charnière du premier plat. L’exemplaire a été réemboîté. Édition originale de ces pensées "dangereuses", publiées sans nom d'auteur, et condamnées au feu par le Parlement de Paris le 7 juillet 1746. Frontispice allégorique gravé en taille-douce dans le genre d'Eisen. Exceptionnel exemplaire aux armes de Louis-Charles de Bourbon, comte d’Eu (1701-1775) ; petit fils de Louis XIV, troisième fils du duc du Maine, grand-maître d’artillerie en 1736 à la mort de ce dernier (OHR 2606, n° 4). Exemplaire réglé (sur les seize premières pages), de toute fraîcheur. Référence : Cohen, 305.
