- Lettre autographe signée à Jean-Philippe Fyot de la Marche. Château de Ferney, 16 août 1768.
2 pages in-8 carré (198 x 162 mm). Signée "Voltaire", avec mention manuscrite "fait réponse le 23 août 1768". Deux petites rousseurs. À l'intendant du premier Président du Parlement de Bourgogne, qu’il informe d’un prêt consenti cinq ans auparavant. "Ne voulant point importuner Monsieur le premier président et respectant ses occupations, je madresse a monsieur son intendant ou a celuy qui est chargé de ses affaires pour avoir lhonneur de l’informer que je fus assez heureux en 1763 pour preter a feu Monsieur son père vingt-mille livres dont il me fit ensuitte un contract dans son voyage a Paris par devant Armet [sic pour Annet] notaire. […] Le contract est du 17 mars 1763 et feu Monsieur le premier président n’en devait que cinq quartiers". Jean-Philippe Fyot de la Marche avait repris une dizaine d’années plus tôt la charge de son père Claude-Philippe Fyot de la Marche, décédé le 3 juin 1768 et qui avait été le condisciple de Voltaire à Louis-le-Grand.Père et fils furent des correspondants réguliers du philosophe (voir lot 266).
