In-4 (306 x 235 mm). Maroquin vert à long grain, roulette à la grecque en encadrement, écusson mosaïqué de maroquin rouge au chiffre "J. B.", dos lisse orné, roulette intérieure, doublure et gardes de moire rose, tranches dorées (Bozerian, sa signature en pied du dos). Dos légèrement passé, charnière et coins frottés. Quelques taches sur les plats. Très séduisant exemplaire sur grand papier vélin avec les figures avant la lettre.Relié au chiffre de Joséphine de Beauharnais. Très belle édition de ce poème dit "traduit du grec" par le chevalier de Querelles. Elle est ornée d'un frontispice en noir et de 8 estampes en couleurs, le tout dessiné et gravé à l'eau-forte ou aquatinte par P.-L. Debucourt. "La manière utilisée par l’artiste représentait un travail considérable ; la gravure de quatre planches au moins et de minutieux repérages... Debucourt fait preuve d’une incomparable virtuosité […]" (A. Jammes). Provenance : Henry B.H. Beaufoy, F.R.S.
