Petit in-12 (149 x 86 mm). Vélin souple (Reliure de l'époque), sous emboîtage moderne de maroquin bordeaux (Maylander).Vélin un peu sali, papier frotté au premier feuillet. Rare exemplaire en vélin de l’époque. Édition originale, posthume, formant le tome VII de l’édition collective de Thierry et Barbin. Suivi de L’Ombre de Molière de l’acteur et auteur dramatique Guillaume Marcoureau dit Brécourt, avec l'achevé d’imprimer à la date du 2 mai 1674. En raison de la date de 1675 que porte le titre général de ce tome VII, manquant ici, et des différences entre certains exemplaires dans lesquels L’Ombre de Molière est relié avant Le Malade, ainsi que de la parution des éditions par Sambix et par Loyson en 1674 qui présentent des variantes, les bibliographes ont parfois hésité sur l’identification de la véritable édition originale d'un texte, non revu par l'auteur, mort avant son impression.
