Une page in-8 (177 x 135 mm) sur un bifeuillet, annotations manuscrites d’une autre main au verso du second feuillet. 2 gravures jointes (portrait gravé par Rigault et maison de La Fontaine à Château-Thierry). Pli central restauré. Quittance établie comme maître particulier triennal des Eaux et Forêts de Château-Thierry. Délivrée à Nicolas Huet, marchand à Chaûry, adjudicataire de 12 arpents de baliveaux pris dans la forêt de Barbillon pour du bois de chauffage. Huet a payé 588 livres "au lieu des cinquante cordes qui m’appartiennent a cause de mes charges de Me particulier ancien et triannal aux eaux et forests du duché de Chaury et prévosté de Châlon-sur-Marne". C’est en 1652 que La Fontaine avait acheté cette charge de maître triennal des eaux et forêts du duché de Chaûry, abréviation courante de Château-Thierry, sa ville natale.
