Description

  • 30.9 cm, 12 1/8  in.
carved standing his right hand raised, sporting a scarf with a bifurcated veil on his head, his face set in a serene expression, wearing a long robe falling into neat pleats, the ivory well patinated to a warm golden-brown colour, wood stand

Condition

The cap on his head is typically carved from a different section of ivory and associated to the figure. There is also a section of ivory applied to his right shoulder meant to be one of the pleat of the robe which may have fallen of and be re-affixed, while the same section that was originally applied to his left shoulder has also fallen off and is now missing. Otherwise the figure is generally in good condition with some expected surface wear and occasional chips as well as age cracks as visible on the photo.
