Catalogue Note

The quality of the carving of the two ducks, skilfully cut from the white inclusion on the pale gray stone, is reminiscent of that on another silhouette agate bottle carved with a crested duck, originally in the collection of Gerry P. Mack, and sold most recently in our New York rooms, 14th September 2010, lot 43, from the collection of Joe Grimberg.
