Description

  • 14 and 15 cm, 5 1/2  and 5 7/8  in.
each of octagonal form resting on eight baluster feet, the exterior set with four loop handles and moulded with floral scrolls arranged in three registers, surmounted by a reticulated cover with raised lotus bud knobs, the matching stand similarly decorated and raised on ruyi feet

Condition

The dehua censer: Two feet are chipped and missing with some reglazing on the surface along the lower edge. One of the loop handles has broken off and been re-affixed. There is a 2 cm hairline crack to the rim of the cover as well as a few chips to the interior rim. There is a restoration to one of the angle and knobs of the stand, and a few small chips to the interior medallion raised border. The smaller censer: generally in good condition. There is a 2 cm chip to the interior rim of the cover, and expected original firing flaws including gaps and occasional iron spots to the surface glaze, more visible on the interior of the stand.
