Description

  • Width 5 3/4  in., 14.6 cm. 
the lotus pad laying on its side and fanning out to a rippled, upturned edge, the stem and a section of the pad folding over and sheltering a crayfish, the veins of the pad and the anatomy of the crayfish all naturalistically rendered, the base impressed with a square seal reading Chen Hanwen, the body a mushroom-brown finely specked with lighter shades

Condition

The ink palette is in good condition overall. There is a tiny nick to the end of the lotus stem. The surface with wear consistent with age and use.
