Description

  • Height 4 5/8  in., 11.7 cm
of irregular trefoil form with a lipped rim, one side deftly carved in short strokes with a rocky valley landscape centering on a thatched roof hut beside a gnarled shady tree, further trees in the distance, the bamboo patinated to a light honey tone, affixed to a stand

Condition

The brushpot with characteristic splitting from rim and base, one of which is slightly open. The attached bamboo base and rim with some nicks and small chips along the edges. The surface with expected wear consistent with age and use. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
