Description

  • 42.5 cm, 16 3/4  in.
the ruyi-shaped terminal pierced with gnarled pine and lingzhi, encircled by a stylised floral scroll band, the curved shaft decorated with pairs of kui dragons and phoenix reserved against a turquoise ground

Condition

The sceptre is in good overall condition expected enamel flakes, some infilled to the fragile edges and extremities, including an approx. 2.5 cm section to the edge of the shaft, an approx. 0.6 cm section to one corner of the central section and an approx. 0.5 by 0.5 cm section to the tip of the ruyi head. Other expected general firing imperfections.
