Description

  • 50.5 cm, 19 7/8  in.
the tapering body rising from a flared foot to a tall waisted neck, flanked by a pair of kui dragon handles, the body painted with bats in flight amongst scrolling clouds, below stylised kui phoenix medallions and shou roundels framed by further clouds at the neck, all divided by wave, lappet, key-fret and floral scroll bands

Condition

The vase is in overall good condition with the exception of a small 0.5 cm chip below the rim. There is some fritting to the galze along some edges, including in two small areas to the rear of one of the handles. There are a few pin prick air bubbles on the rim and expected light scratching in areas to the surface glaze. The wood stand is in good condition.
