Description

  • overall 19.5 cm, 7 5/8  in.
each of cylindrical form, moulded with horizontal ribs and bamboo-form struts, brightly enamelled with meandering lotus scrolls divided by bands of florets, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a bamboo finial, the base inscribed with a six-character Tongzhi seal mark

Condition

There is a number of chips to the 'footring' of one cover and extensive areas of cover-up and overspray to the inner 'footring'. The other cover is in good overall condition with a few flakes and minute chips to the underside and edges. There is an approx. 1 cm retouched chip to the rim of the jar. The other jar is in good overall condition. There is wear to the gilding to both jars and covers, especially to the finials and handles.
