Salon Le Mesnil, Blanc de Blancs 1985 Excellent appearanceWhen last tasted, disgorged specially in 2009. Big, bold, bready bouquet. This is real Champagne, glaringly so! Incredibly and persistently scented. Mineral too, pointing to the superb Chardonnay. Incisive, honied, bready taste. Would be breathtaking with food now that it is mature. Buttered toast finish. I can take a lot of this. In fact, this was my top wine in a very big, blind tasting of 1985s and 1982s.
