Description

  • 6.3 by 7cm; 7 by 5.1cm. 
the square panel decorated in repoussé motifs and polychrome enamels with a central cartouche depicting a mother and child flanked by a female and winged attendant beneath calligraphic signature, framed by oval floral panels; the other of oval form in polychrome enamels depicting a mother and child (most probably the Madonna and Child) in a garden with a small deer at their feet, later gold frame mounted with diamonds, gold suspension loop and chain

Condition

The square panel with some minor dents as consistent with material, some minor knicks and minor sections of enamel rubbed, with small drill holes around entire exterior where once would have been fastened; some erosion to green enamel on reverse, in an old jewellery box, the oval pendant in good condition, later gold details around exterior and set in later diamond-set gold frame with chain, as viewed.
