Description

  • each: 50cm.
each of characteristic form with hinged inner-guard, featuring chiselled gilt foliate designs to centre and along borders, the interiors padded with red textile, mitts with external chain-mail with gilt lozenge design, open and en-suite padding to interior 

Condition

Both with some oxidisation to steel and associated erosion, the gilding in good condition mainly with some rubbing, interiors with worn textile lining and discoloration and remnants of adhesive near edges, probably a sign of later restoration, some of the lining of mitts frayed, interlinking chainmail of mitts with some discoloration, as viewed.
