The initial black areas have faded and tend to brown in the original work.The printed catalogue illustration does not accurately convey the brown colours of the stripes. Imperfections to the canvas are inherent to the artist chosen medium, visible in the first and third brown stripe from the left. Handling marks are located along the left and right edges. Stains are located close to the rim along the lower edge as visible in the catalogue illustration. Upon close inspection tiny stains are located mainly in in the beige areas of the upper edge. There is a vertical and horizontal fold mark in the fabric in the center, as visible in the catalogue illustration.
