Vega Sicilia 'Unico' 1962 Ribera del Duero, DOu. 1vts, bin-soiled label70% Tinto Fino, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot. Very 'classic' nose, young, fresh and healthy. Walnutty, quite mineral taste. So much body, but the texture is fine-grained. Very crisp, with a finish of walnut liqueur and a touch of chocolate. Another bottle had a lovely complex, complicated bouquet and taste, with every sip revealing another aspect. Very solid, firm and full of body, with a great peppermint after-flavour. In 2013, the peppermint is there on the nose. Terrific sweetness, volume and body on the palate. Very great wine and an absolute star in the firmament of Vega Sicilia.
