Condition

Overall in very good condition. The wood appears to have been sensitively refinished at some point in the history of the piece and has been beautifully preserved, presenting with some scattered, extremely minor surface scratches and abrasions, only visible upon very close inspection. The wood surfaces with some faint scuffing, mostly concentrated to the feet and backrests in keeping with age and gentle use. Some very minor lifting to the wood and minor loss on the proper left back foot on one side chair, only visible upon close inspection. Some minor hairline cracking to the wood surface, mostly concentrated to the detailed carving of the fern elements and to the back proper left of one armchair measuring 2 by 2 ½ inches, not visually detractive and consistent with age. The recessed areas with some traces of surface dirt. The velvet forest green upholstery is in excellent condition, with some minor loose threads. An overall elegant set, with superbly carved naturalistic fern and snail elements.
