Condition
Overall in excellent condition. With minor superficial surface and minor abrasions mainly concentrated to the seat, largest measuring approximately 6 1/8 inches long, consistent with age and gentle use and not visually detracting. With occasional, very minimal evidence of white paint, mostly concentrated to the hickory spindles, only visible upon very close inspection and not visually detracting to the overall beautiful form of the wood. Bases of legs present with minor scuffs and nicks, not visually distracting and consistent with the purpose of the object over time. Both this and the previous lot (lot 123) are a matched set and present similar wear. The richly-figured live-edge armrests presents dynamism and asymmetry, as would be found in nature, making the present model highly evocative of George Nakashima's spiritual and meditative oeuvre.
