Condition

Overall in very good condition. The bristles with some very minor bending, consistent with age and gentle handling. Six rods have been professionally and sensitively repatinated by a professional metal conservator. The central stem with very minor loss to the gilt finish and minute abrasions below the dandelion assembly. The central stem rests within a later granite base executed by Val Bertoia, which presents with a few very minor isolated areas of light wear and discoloration concentrated to one side of the base, not visually distracting. The catalogue photograph presents a subtler shine to the gilt wires, and when viewed in person, the gilt wires presents with a rich and almost aura-like sheen.
