Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, hinged to the overmount with tape at one point along the upper edge. All four edges are slightly unevenly cut. There is paper remnant along the extreme edges of the verso. Examination under UV light reveals areas of retouching to the centre of the composition (the longest of which is approximately 7 cm long), notably to the red and blue pigment. There are pinholes towards the extreme edges, notably to the centre of both upper and lower edges. There is some glue remnants associated with small areas of paper abrasion along the upper edge (not visible when framed). There is a repaired tear to the lower left corner (not visible when framed) and a minor paper loss to the upper right corner. There is paint shrinkage to the centre of the composition, notably to the blue and red pigments, and some associated small areas of pigment loss to the centre of the blue shape. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
